We're a B2B AI company, not a construction company, and not a venture-backed startup pointing a general-purpose chatbot at an industry it doesn't understand. We're a small technical team — headquartered in Toronto, with a second base in Rome, serving contractors across Canada, the US and Europe — that builds eight programs, runs them ourselves, and rents you the use of them by the month.

The problem is simple to state and expensive to ignore: the answer is almost always somewhere in the document — a spec book, an RFI log, a subcontractor's fine print — it just doesn't surface until the wall is closed in or the change order lands. We built software that reads every page, every time, on every tender, instead of on the one afternoon somebody had free.

We're small on purpose. When something's wrong, you're emailing the people who wrote it — not a shared account manager and a ticketing queue.

Marapone was founded by people who spent over 10 years on concrete crews and jobsites before writing a line of code — not consultants hired to study the industry from a conference room. We didn't need to guess where an estimator loses an afternoon or where a scope gap hides. We'd already lived it.

We used to sell this outright — one price, install it, we walk away. Wrong shape for software that has to keep tracking a building code that keeps amending itself. Your documents come to us to be read — that's the trade-off of hosted software, and we won't pretend otherwise. A vague structural note, a spec clause that reads fine in isolation, an RFI nobody closed out — none of it looks urgent until trades are already on site. By then it's a change order, not a question. We built AI that reads a drawing set the way a superintendent who's seen this before would: for consequence, not just content.

A general model doesn't know your industry, and it shows

It won't know a notice to owner from a notice of commencement, or why a dispute can turn on that distinction. So ours isn't general-purpose — it's tuned on real project documents, not a scrape of the open internet.

We'll tell you what the software can't do before you pay, not after. If it's the wrong fit for how you work, we'd rather say so and lose the deal than waste your time.

YOUR OUTPUT IS ALWAYS YOURS

The engine is ours; everything you make with it is yours. Export your takeoffs, levelling sheets and audit reports whenever you want, in formats that outlive us. Cancel from your dashboard in two clicks, no retention call.

EVERY PROGRAM EARNS ITS PLACE

Takeoff, code checking, scope gaps, spec risk and bid levelling before the award; schedule, subcontractor compliance and job cost after it. Eight, and each one exists because a job needs it — not to make a comparison table longer. We shipped them in that order, five then three, because that is the order the work actually happens in.

Nothing you upload is forwarded to OpenAI, Anthropic or Google, pooled with another firm's workspace, or used to train anything. Not a premium tier — the only way we operate.

PROMISE

We're not a construction company, and we won't claim to know your trade or your local code better than you do. What we're good at is building AI that reads your documents accurately and surfaces what you'd otherwise miss or find too slowly.

There's no offline or air-gapped version. The programs run on our infrastructure, so your documents come to us to be read. If an owner's contract bars third-party services outright, a plan is the wrong answer and we'll say so on the call. The one exception is a deployment into your own cloud tenant, priced as an enterprise project.

We don't sell source code or model weights any more. We run the engine; you subscribe to what it does. If you need something you can hold outright and keep running after we're gone, we're not that vendor — a real change from how we used to sell, and better you hear it here than on an invoice.

No system catches everything, and anyone who claims otherwise is selling you something. What we can promise is that it catches far more than a tired reviewer does on their fourth tender that week, and it does it the same way every time.

We're a small team, not a 24/7 desk. We work real hours across two time zones. If you need round-the-clock SLA support, we're not the right fit, and we'd rather say that now than write a contract we can't honour.
