Thirteen of the twenty-seven Ontario rules under fire protection are answered from the drawing: exit widths, stair geometry, rated doors and the separations the code requires. The rest are printed with their clause, because they are decided by the specification.
What the engine reads off the drawing
Every reader runs on every file, whichever trades the audit is scoped to. Choosing this trade decides which rules get reported. The drawing is read either way.
Exits, by the dimension that governs
Clear width and height at every exit door, and the stair geometry behind it: rise, going, width and the rise between landings.
Rated doors, from the schedule
A door the schedule rates is checked for the closer and the hardware its rating requires, against NFPA 80 and the OBC article beside it.
Separations, where they are drawn
An attached garage and its separation are checked as drawn. Where a set states a rating without drawing the assembly, the finding says which is missing.

Answered from the drawing means the check reaches a pass or a fail from what was extracted. Checklist means the rule is printed with its clause for a person to confirm. Both are useful on a permit set, and only the first is a finding.

Said before you pay for it
- Sprinkler coverage is not designed or checked here. Where the code requires a system, the rule is printed and a person decides.
- Travel distances are not measured. They need a route, and a route is a judgement about how a building is used.
- A rated assembly is only as checkable as the drawing is specific. "1 hour" written on a wall is read as stated, not verified against a tested assembly.
- Nothing here is a permit approval. It is the first pass an experienced reviewer makes, done in minutes and cited to the clause.
