CostLine, in order.
Job cost against the budget, and the forecast that follows from it.
CostLine
Job cost against the budget, and the forecast that follows from it. Included from Pro upwards.
1. Bring in the budget
The estimate as awarded, by cost code.
2. Post the costs
Committed, incurred and forecast, per code, as the job runs.
3. Read the WIP
Over- and under-billing, the forecast at completion, and which codes are moving against you while there is still time to act.
What it will not do
- It is a forecast, and a forecast is a statement about the future made from the past.
- It reads what is posted. A cost nobody entered is a cost it cannot see.
Every program opens a sample set on the first day, so none of this has to be read before trying it. See the sample project.
